Vocational Qualification in Nature and Environment
A nature guide is a multidisciplinary expert with knowledge in nature, culture, and off-road skills.
Training includes practical and theoretical studies over two years. In the beginning of the studies, we focus on basic skills like landscape reading, outdoor equipment use and Sámi culture. The second year emphasizes theory and workplace application, developing customer service and guiding skills. Students gain experience guiding diverse clients in various nature activities. With growing tourism in Lapland, there is a high demand for skilled guides. The program also emphasizes healthy living, including social, health care, and nutrition improvements.
